I used to be a cheerleader...

Happy Halloween Everybody!!!

I'm in the middle of making Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, Aunt Jemima Cornbread and have a A&W Rootbeer chillin' in the fridge - but I just wanted to share this all with you.

Me, Halloween...1989?

This is me. Probably in 1988 or 1989, as a cheerleader for Halloween. The 'C' stands for, of course, Caitlin.

It's ironic to me that I wanted to be a cheerleader. Oh how things have changed.

Also, you'll be hearing a lot more from me in November as I have pledged to be apart of National Blog Posting Month!

Absentee Mutha Fuckas!!!!!

I am a very proud, and excited (expat) US Citizen: Today I got my absentee ballot in the mail.

This is a miracle on many fronts, as:

1) I sent in my request to have my ballot sent to me overseas about two weeks ago

2) This was mostly so my mom didn't fill in the McCain/Palin bubble for me and forge my signature. (JUST KIDDING! I KNOW YOU WOULDN'T DO THAT!!!!....ha....ha...eh.)

3)
They had to PROCESS PAPER WORK and MAIL ME a letter INTERNATIONALLY. Three things the government isn't exactly speedy with.

I feel responsible, and totally patriotic. Sure, I may have abandoned the state of California and perhaps voted for Bush's second term and MAYBE I voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger BUT BY GOD I AM GOING TO SET THIS STRAIGHT.

I AM VOTING FOR OBAMA IN '08 AND THERE AIN'T NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP ME OR CHANGE MY MIND!!!!!!!

O SAY CAN YOU SEE THAT, BITCHES!!!!

WOOOOOOOO!!!!!

On a less agressive front, if you are an American expat and are confused as to how you can have your ballot sent to you, the Overseas Vote Foundation is the website I used, and it was quick, free, easy, and straightforward. I'd donate money to them if I weren't so fucking poor,

A Humble Plea

"Would you like me to pay your phone bill, too?"

Dear Universe,

I need help. You see, I live out in Surrey. I work from my home office, so that means that I'm pretty far out from the ebb and flow of London. Not by much, but by just enough that before 9:30am every day, a train ticket costs me £13 or £7 during off-peak times.

Seeing as BitchBuzz is a, eh, Indie Website (read: no VC funding, doing it everything ourselves with our own blood, sweat and tears...) I'm not exactly rolling in it.

And that's OK. I am willing and able to put in the time, love and effort every single day so that it gets to a point that it pays for itself, and so that I can have a salary - and so can my brilliant, amazing writers.

However, I cannot get out and spread the gospel of BitchBuzz as much as I would like to at the moment because I cannot afford the £7 - £13 it would take to get me into London every day. Even if I could get in 2- 3 times a week, that would be SO HELPFUL.

But, as it stands, I am missing meetings and events and important netwoking opportunities because of money.

How upsetting is that?

Browser Window Shopping

Window shopping can be either extremely fun, or extremely depressing.

Window shopping online can be a lot more comfortable...less people, less strollers, you can sit on your ass...

But there is something to be said for actual window shopping. You know, like the food court.

Because Amazon doesn't exactly have everything I want to buy at the moment available for me to add it to my real wish list, these are just some of the things that have me cursing my bank account at the moment.

1) The Vote Princess Leia shirt that Tina Fey wore on the Saturday Night Live season premier.

2) Coach's Lizza Shoe (and hawt pink and black striped tights that I can't find anywhere)

3) The Lux Stripe Open Swing Cardigan from Urban Outfitters

4) An Annual Oyster Travel Card - so I can actually afford to get out of the house, and go to press events and business meetings.

5) Jon Stewart's America and Stephen Colbert's I Am America
